LISBON – Lisbon Community Federal Credit Union recently donated $1,900 to the Lisbon area 4-H organization. The funds were awarded to Kristy Ouellette, Extension educator at the University of Maine Cooperative Extension in Lisbon Falls, on behalf of the Androscoggin/Sagadahoc Leaders Association.

Over the course of several months, the Lisbon Credit Union conducted on-site fundraisers such as bake sales and dress-down days to raise funds for 4-H. In particular, employees and members of the credit union teamed up with 4-H participants to create a personalized cookbook featuring their favorite family recipes. Cookbooks are still being sold in the lobby with proceeds benefiting 4-H.

4-H is the youth development program through the University of Maine Cooperative Extension. The funds will be used to support the 4-H program in Androscoggin and Sagadahoc; these programs include scholarships for youth to attend statewide, regional and national events, countywide activities such as field trips, achievement nights and other team building activities.

Lisbon Community Federal Credit Union is a member-owned cooperative with $74 million in assets, serving 7,250 members in Lisbon and surrounding communities.
