LEWISTON – Emerson Toyota cranked out 29 hits in a 22-9 rout of Carlton Club/Ducharme’s in Game 1 of the Lewiston men’s softball league championship series.
The victory would have forced a single game for the title on Tuesday night. However, due to a roster technicality, Emerson was forced to forfeit, giving Carlton the crown.
Playing a man short, Emerson countered with a relentless attack. Scott Corriveau hit two home runs and amassed eight RBIs. Erik Matzell and Ross Nadeau both collected five hits.
