Coach: Craig Latuscha (first year)
Last year’s record: 6-7-2, lost in Eastern A quarterfinal
Returning letter winners: Seniors —Emily Grund (MF), Frankie Lally (FB/SK), Laurent Bennett (MF), Kelsey Letourneau (FB); Juniors — Emily Hartnett (MF/SK), Marykate Masters (FB/MF), Kelly Philbrook (FB), Jaclyn Masters (MF/SK), Phoebe Chamberlain (FB), Melissa Paione (FB); Sophomores — Kate Sawyer (MF), Lexis Clavet (MF).
Key losses: Kirsten Prue (G), Hanna Mogensen (MF), Katie St. Hilaire (MF), Lindsey Rogers (FB), Deanna Morency (FB), Hillary Turcotte (MF), Jessica Nyholm (FB).
Promising newcomers: Junior — Magna Heir (MF); Sophomores — Abby Bellefleur (MF), Allairie Lever (MF), Ashley Arnold (G); Freshmen — Kory Norcross (SK), Brittney Myrick (FB), Rebeka Able (SK/FB), Taylor Landry (G).
Outlook: Latuscha takes over the girls’ program after coaching the boys’ JV squad. EL lost an all-star keeper in Prue and experience in the midfield and defense. There are still 12 players back, many of which saw time last year. The midfield and defense has experience but replacing Prue in goal will be a challenge. New players will help try to bring a balanced attack up front.
Coach’s comment:
“A solid core of student athletes return after playing several games together throughout the summer. Our ultimate goal is to be competitive with all teams throughout the conference and to improve as a team throughout the regular season.” — Coach Craig Latuscha.
