Winthrop 64, Madison 18

WINTHROP — Joey Brennan caught three touchdown passes from Travis Luce and returned a kickoff 85 yards for another score as Winthrop cruised past Madison by a 64-18 margin Friday night.

The Ramblers erupted for all of their points in the first half and led 64-6 at the break. Luce hit Brennan for scores of 40, 15 and 11 yards in the opening quarter. Following a Dillon Dominski 45-yard scoring pass to Cody Couturier in the second stanza, Brennan returned the ensuing kickoff for his third touchdown of the night.

Ryan Conant rushed for a pair of scores while Luce, Travis Hutchins and Dany Moody each added touchdown runs of their own.

Madison picked up the lone scores in the second half on a 1-yard run by Garrett Emery and a 37-yard burst by Danny Morshead.
