LEWISTON — Award-winning singer-songwriter Vanessa Torres of Portland and Lewiston’s own Denise Dill will peform Friday, Sept. 10, at She Doesn’t Like Guthries.

Torres’ songs and performances are soulful personal portraits rooted in universal themes of compassion and hope. She draws in listeners with songs that are both catchy and lyrically moving.

Recent accolades include honorable mention in the 2010 Rocky Mountain Folks Festival Songwriting Competition; finalist in the 2010 Falcon Ridge Emerging Artist Showcase; and third-place winner in this year’s Music to Life Contest at the Kerrville (Texas) Folk Festival.

Dill, an earthy OUT folk singer, has been involved in music since age 15. She has toured the country and has a new album, “IN ME,” which weaves stories and images of her home state of Indiana with her new home in Maine.

The show will run from 9 to 11 p.m. The restaurant/cafe is at 115 Middle St. No cover charge.
