LEWISTON — An evening of Taize prayer and Eucharistic Adoration with Fr. Bob Vaillancourt will be held from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 12, at Holy Cross Church, 1080 Lisbon St.

Special guest, author Susan Conroy, will share reflections on Mother Teresa and the Eucharist. There will also be an opportunity for veneration of a relic of the True Cross.

Taize song is named after the ecumenical community founded by Brother Roger in Taize, France, in the 1940s. Today the Taize community is made up of more than 100 brothers, Catholic and Protestant alike, coming from more than 25 nations.

Vaillancourt, a native of Lewiston, is currently the director of vocations for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Maine. He is also a popular retreat master and has lead many pilgrimages to holy sites all over the world.
