NEW GLOUCESTER — The wedding of Sarah Diane Greenwald and Alex James Johnson was held at 5 p.m. on July 31 at Pineland Farms in New Gloucester. Beryl Fossett, aunt of the bride and notary public, officiated at the ceremony.
Mrs. Johnson is the daughter of Robert and Nancy Greenwald of Portland. Mr. Johnson is the son of Carolyn Johnson of Bryant Pond and James Johnson of Greenwood.
The bride wore a beaded mermaid style gown and carried a bouquet of bright summer roses in orange and pink and yellow freesia.
Deana Dominicus, friend of the bride, served as honor attendant. Bridesmaids were Stephanie Vigneault, Visith Chhay and Krystal Smith. Maylyn Hastings, niece, was flower girl.
Ryan Smith, friend of the bridegroom, was best man. Ushers were Gregory Koch, Justin Wight and Peter Libby. Colby Hastings, nephew, was ring bearer.
The couple did a butterfly release at the ceremony in the garden where the ceremony took place. A reception followed in the Mt. Washington Room at Pineland Farms after which they traveled to the Bahamas. They are residing in Bryant Pond.
The bride is a 2005 graduate of the University of Maine at Farmington and a 2009 graduate of the University of New England with a master’s degree in literacy. She is currently a third-grade teacher in Peru.
The bridegroom received an associate degree in automotive technology from Wyoming Technical institute in 2002 and has worked for Rowe Auburn as an automotive technician for the past seven years.
