Literary Union

AUBURN — The programs for the October meetings of the Woman’s Literary Union will be held at the clubhouse, 19 Elm St., and will feature club member and Auburn resident, Barbara Randall. The first meeting will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 14, and the second meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 19.

Randall will present the “History of the Woman’s Literary Union,” which was organized in 1892, to members. It will also be an opportunity for community members who have always wondered about the “White House” on Elm Street to learn about its history. The public is welcome and refreshments will be served.

School fair

LEWISTON — Bates College will host its annual graduate and professional school fair from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 19, in the Clifton Daggett Gray Athletic Building, 130 Central Ave.

The community is invited. There is no admission charge and no prior registration is required. For more information, call the Bates Career Development Center at 786-6232.

Support group

LEWISTON — A Parkinson’s disease support group will meet from 1 to 2:30 p.m. on the first Friday of every month, at d’Youville Pavilion, St. Mary’s Hospital.

Library program

AUBURN — The Auburn Public Library will host a visit from the paranormal investigating group Searchin4spirits at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 21, in the Androscoggin Community Room.

The group, founded by Jeff and Robin Davis of Lewiston, uses modern recording equipment to conduct investigations of suspected paranormal activity at various locales around South Central Maine.
