PORTLAND – The Maine Rebels women’s football team is looking for new players for the 2011 season. The team will host a free football clinic for women to learn football skills and meet veteran players and coaches. There is no obligation for attending.

The free clinic will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30 at Memorial Field on the campus of Deering High School. The clinic is an opportunity for women to come and see what women’s football is about in a laid-back, non-intimidating environment.

Players must be 18 or older. For more information or to register, go to www.southernmainerebels.com or call Ruth at 776-8979.

The Maine Rebels, formerly the Southern Maine Rebels, were founded in 2004. They are members of the Independent Women’s Football League, a non-profit, international women’s tackle football organization. In addition to the web site, the Rebels also may be found on Facebook and Twitter.
