PORTLAND — Tucker Geoffray netted a goal in each half to lead Waynflete a 4-0 victory over Mt. Abram in the Western Class C boys’ soccer quarterfinals on Tuesday.
Sam Murphy and Omar Abdille also tallied for the Flyers to complete the scoring.
Zander Majercik needed only two saves to record the shutout. The Roadrunners (5-4-6) utilzed Josh Beedy between the posts, who turned aside 13 of 17 shots in the contest.
Girls’ soccer
Falmouth 4, Lisbon 0
FALMOUTH — Rachel Bauer led a group of four players to register goals as Falmouth easily handled Lisbon with a 4-0 victory in the quarterfinals of the Western Class B girls’ soccer tournament Tuesday.
Abbey Caviero, Alex Bernier and Jessi L’Heureux also tallied for the Yachtsmen (9-5-1) to complete the scoring.
Falmouth jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first stanza and capped the final tally when L’Heureux scored with 22:19 left in regulation.
Elizabeth Esterbrook needed only one save to notch the shutout. Kyrstin Ramich was busy in goal for the Greyhounds (10-3-2), turning back 22 shots in the game.
