LEWISTON — Harold F. Mills Sr., 80, of Wilton, formerly of Lynn, Mass., died unexpectedly early Friday, Oct. 29, at the Central Maine Medical Center.

He was born on Jan. 4, 1930, in Natick, Mass., a son of Francis A. and Mary (Waitt) Mills. He attended Tewksbury and Framingham, Mass., schools and went on to serve his country during World War II with the U.S. Air Force.

In January 1948, he married the love of his life, Sally Clough in Boston. He worked at G.E. in Lynn, Mass., for 29 1/2 years building F404 and Stealth Bomber engines, a job in which he was very proud of.

He and his wife retired to Maine and had been residing there for the past 12 years.

Harold enjoyed building model boats and especially airplanes, the company of his grandchildren, his dog, Rufus, fall foliage trips and working around his home.

He is survived by his children, Harold F. Mills Jr. of Peabody, Mass., Faith Landry and her husband, Ernie, of Saugus, Mass., Cheryl DuBonis of Lynn, Mass., Doreen Mathias of Lynn, Mass., Christine Mills of Washington, D.C., Linda Young and her husband, Brian, of Farmington and Richard Mills and his wife, Kati, of Wilton; 19 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Sally Sept. 16, 2007; a daughter, Sally Bergendahl; a grandson, Tommie Mills; a brother; Freddie Mills; and his parents.
