AUBURN – A man who was struck by a car on Longley Memorial Bridge on Tuesday was listed in serious condition a day later at a Lewiston hospital.

Robert Vicino was being treated for a variety of injuries suffered when he was struck at about 5 p.m. on the Auburn side of the bridge.

Vicino’s age and address were not available Wednesday night.

Police said Vicino was crossing the bridge wearing dark clothing and walking outside a crosswalk when he was struck by a westbound car driven by 44-year-old Craig Canney of Lewiston.

Vicino was taken to Central Maine Medical Center. Canney was not hurt in the crash.

Auburn police were continuing to investigate on Wednesday.
