LEWISTON — One woman was stabbed and another was being sought Friday after a fight on Spring Street.
At about 9:30 a.m., police went to 133 Spring St. after the victim of the attack reportedly walked back to her apartment on her own.
At the scene, a trail of blood led up the pavement to a door at the front of the house. It was believed the victim was able to walk on her own to nearby Central Maine Medical Center.
While police searched along the railroad tracks for a weapon and other evidence, others were told to be on the lookout for a black woman traveling with a man in an Army coat in connection with the attack.
By later Friday, no arrests had been made.
Lewiston police Lt. Mark Cornelio declined to identify the victim or provide any details about the stabbing.
The incident remained under investigation Friday night.
