MEXICO — The Mexico Police Department recently handled the following incidents.

Arrest

* Brandon Gotto, 31, Swett Avenue, Mexico, on a charge of domestic assault, during the afternoon of Jan. 2, at the Mexico Police Department. The incident was reported at 11:04 a.m. Jan. 1 at the Swett Avenue residence. He was released from the Mexico Police Department on $600 unsecured bail and ordered to make no contact with the victim. He is scheduled to appear in Rumford District Court on Feb. 8.

Theft

* An Osgood Avenue resident reported at 9:21 p.m. Jan. 3 that someone had stolen her cell phone, valued at $50. Police have a suspect.

Update on thefts

Two residents of Kimball Avenue reported at 9:10 a.m. Dec. 31 that items were missing from their vehicles parked in their driveways. Taken were a cup filled with coins, and a wallet with a driver’s license in it. The change was recovered but the wallet and license are still missing.

Sgt. Roy Hodsdon said these two thefts are related to a rash of thefts from parked vehicles in the Kimball and Middle avenues area on Dec. 26. Arrested on those thefts were Charles Lee Gannon Jr., 18, Knox Street, Rumford, and Parker C. Erskine, 21, of Cumberland Street, Rumford.
