LEWISTON — Sylvia T. Parent, 87, of Lewiston, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 6, with her loving family by her side.

She was born in Keegan, Nov. 7, 1923, the daughter of the late Patrick and Edith Levasseur Thibodeau. She married Edmond H. Parent on July 12, 1941; together they celebrated 49 years of marriage.

Along with her husband, they were self-employed as fruit and vegetable brokers in Grand Isle. They moved to Lewiston in 1977, where they owned and operated State Pride Farms. After retiring, she worked for the American Red Cross, USDA Soil and Water Conservation and the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul. She was a member of Ladies Auxiliary and La Survivance Francaise.

She enjoyed cooking, gardening, crocheting, interior decorating, keeping up with current events and spending time with her family.

She is survived by three sons, Harold Parent of Loxahatchee, Fla., Kenneth Parent and wife, Carol, of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Dale Parent and wife, Sharon, of Lewiston; three daughters, Tania and husband, Paul Bard, of Manchester, Conn., Tina and husband, Daryl Wiggett, of Vernon, Conn., and Tricia and husband, Dean Brown, of Lewiston; two sisters, Bernice and Clement Gauthier of Lewiston and Omerine and Kenneth Case of Syracuse, N.Y.; one brother, Alphee Thibodeau and wife, Doris, of Lewiston; 15 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Edmond; two sons, Gene Parent and Richard Parent; four sisters; and one brother.
