FARMINGTON — Nancy C. Tyler, 52, of Andover, formerly of Farmington Falls, died Tuesday, Jan 11, at Franklin Memorial Hospital, with her family at her side.

She was born on Nov 17, 1958, in Farmington, a daughter of Albert and Ada (Harnden) Tyler. She graduated from Mt. Blue High School in 1977, and later went to KVCC in Fairfield earning her associates degree in applied science.

For the past 17 years, Nancy has worked for Maine Department of Transportation in Augusta  and served as a Planning and Research Associate. For 10 of those years, she worked for the Maine Local Roads Center, where she was in contact with hundreds of municipal officials through the state of Maine. Nancy devoted much of her work time to providing technical assistance to local road officials or helping them enroll in training workshops.

Her greatest pleasure in life, however, was time spent with her family and her friends, especially her two sons and three granddaughters.

She is survived by her mother, Ada Tyler of Farmington; her longtime companion, since age 13, Larry Norton of Andover; two sons, Toby Tyler and his wife, Melanie, of Farmington Falls and Todd Tyler of Lewiston; granddaughters, Elisha, Alexus and Lilah Tyler; siblings, Marilyn Gilmore of Florida, Janet Kennedy and her husband, Alton, of Industry, Gail Currier of Farmington, David Tyler and his wife, “Peachie,” of Farmington, Joseph Tyler and his wife, Debbie, of Winterport, Peter Tyler and his companion, Veronica, of New Vineyard and Edward Tyler and his wife, Cindy, of Farmington; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her father; her daughter, Elisha Tyler on Sept 16, 1981; and siblings, Elaine Flagg, Suzanne Nile and John Tyler.
