WILTON — A concert featuring local youth music groups will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 16, at the Wilton Congregational Church on Main Street to benefit the Wilton Food Pantry.

Participating groups include the Franklin County Fiddlers, Mt. Blue Middle School Show Choir, Mt. Blue Jazz Band, Mt. Blue Voices, and the Syncopations. Admission is by cash or check donation in any amount. All donations will go to the Wilton Food Pantry.

The concert marks the seventh consecutive year of youth musician benefit concerts, organized by the Youth Group of the Wilton Congregational Church.

The series began in 2005 when the first concert was held to benefit relief efforts for the South Asia tsunami of late 2004. In subsequent years, concert donations have gone to a community heating oil fund, and to the Wilton Food Pantry. This year, the Youth Group once again chose the food pantry because it is experiencing unprecedented demand for food assistance this winter, Allen Kaplan, event chairman, said.

The church is handicap accessible. Refreshments will be available.

Those who wish to donate but are unable to attend may send a check to the Wilton Food Pantry, c/o the Wilton Congregational Church, P.O. Box 566, Wilton, ME 04294.
