PORTLAND — Darlene C. Rowe, 41, of Phillips, died unexpectedly early Thursday, Jan. 13, at Maine Medical Center.

She was born in Farmington, Aug. 22, 1969, a daughter of Gordon Sumner Huff Sr. and Phyllis (Riendeau) Savage and was a 1987 graduate of Mt. Abram High School. In 1996, she graduated from the University of Maine at Augusta with an associate’s degree as an registered nurse.

Darlene was employed at North Country Associates per diem for a time and later was administrator at Pinewood Terrace. For the last 13 years, she was employed at Leap, Inc. as a RN administrator where she was employed at the time of her death.

On May 14, 1993, she married Marcus Rowe at the Phillips United Methodist Church. Darlene and her family enjoyed shopping, traveling, Longaberger Baskets, and Boyd’s Bears. She was especially fond of animals and was the treasurer at the Franklin County Animal Shelter.

She is survived by her husband, Marcus; her daughter, Hailee; her mother, Phyllis Savage and her husband, Richard, all of Phillips; two brothers, Gordon Sumner Huff Jr. and his wife, Peggy and their children, Tyler and Lindsay, all of Strong and Todd B. Huff and his son, Dalten, of Strong; her mother-in-law, Birdena Rowe of Avon; brother-in-law, Matthew Rowe of Gorham; aunts and uncles, Michael and Rispah Huff of Strong, Jonathan and Gladys Pinkham of Highland Plantation, Everett and Paula Huff of Lexington, David and Sharon Riendeau of Connecticut, Ernest and Ellen Robbins of Wilton, Rob and Shirley Bracome of Connecticut, and Robert and Celia Riendeau of Avon; many cousins; and best friends, Joyce Clark of Phillips and Jane Shaw of Livermore Falls.

She was predeceased by her father and her father-in-law.
