Julie Shackley, left, president/CEO of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice, receives a $1,000 check from Heather McBean, education and outreach manager for Poland Springs Water Co. The grant will be used to care for patients at the Hospice House who do not have health insurance or whose insurance does not cover the level of care provided at the Hospice House, according to Shackley. The accredited, 14-bed Hospice House was opened in 2005, the first in-patient hospice facility in the state. Poland Spring has invested more than $3.2 million in community giving since 2000.
