AUBURN — Rose M. LaRoche, 78, of Seventh Street, New Auburn died Thursday, Jan. 13, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin after a bout with cancer.

Born in Bangor on Feb. 11, 1932, the daughter of the late Angus and Hilda (White) Kilby. She attended Auburn schools. On July 2, 1949, she married Lambert “Bullet” LaRoche, who died on Nov. 30, 1993.

Prior to her retirement, she worked for many years at Jean’s Market and Wheelers Market. Rose enjoyed line-dancing, shopping, traveling which included Hawaii, California, Cancun, Mexico and Las Vegas. She was an avid reading enthusiast.

Her most important interests were her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren which include five sons, Steven and his wife, Louise, of Auburn, Paul of Harpswell, Lawrence and his wife, Paula of Auburn, David and his wife, Gloria, of Lewiston and Bradley and his wife, Derralyn, of Otisfield; three daughters, Linda Wilson, Susan and her husband, Michael Mercier and Brenda and her husband, Daniel Johnson, all of Auburn; one brother, Kenneth and his wife, Priscilla Kilby, of Auburn; two sisters, Betty and her husband, Alan Guimond, of Auburn and Dolly Jones of Lewiston; she was Nana to 11 grandchildren; Big Nana to 10 great-grandchildren; and Big Big Nana to one great-great-granddaughter.

She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Beth LaRoche; one brother, Robert Kilby; and two sisters, Lenora Johnson and Donna Ames.
