The Norway Opera House stabilization project is nearing completion as workers from Chabot’s Construction in Greene put the finishing touches on the back wall of the building. Vinyl siding in the color of brick was selected as a temporary cover for the wall that has been reconstructed to provide stability after a partial roof collapse in 2007. Before the project was initiated, officials feared that heavy snow on the roof that was held up by rotted trusses might cause the roof of the historic 1894 building to collapse this winter.
