LEWISTON — Raymond L. Belaire, 75, of Lewiston, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 20, at the Hospice House, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Lewiston on July 2, 1936, the son of Rosaire and Madeline Bell Belaire. His love for construction started at an early age, working for the family business. His passion for heavy equipment started shortly after and continued until his recent retirement. He was a hard worker who enjoyed getting up in the morning to go to work.

On Jan. 8, 1955, he married Paulette Beaule; they recently celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary. He enjoyed the company of his family. His free time was spent cutting wood and helping his family with any outdoor project.

Survivors include his wife, Paulette; three daughters, Venise Wilding and her husband, Dain, Tina Nason and her husband, Rick, and Tammy Soucy and her husband, Bill, all of Lewiston. He also leaves behind two sons, Bob Belaire and his wife, Laura, of Litchfield, and Todd Belaire and his wife, Debbie, of Greene. He also leaves ten grandchildren, Derek Wilding and his wife, Shannon, Adam Wilding, Scott and Brian Nason, Jenn and Eric Soucy, Ashly Medeiros, Becca Belaire, Megan Whitehead, and Allie Belaire, as well as his two sisters, Pauline Collins and Diane Feely.

Words will never be able to express the loss of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother. We would like to extend our gratitude and thanks to Dr. Rivard, the staff at CMMC and the Hospice House.
