CDS board to meet

‘Relax and Renew’

LEWISTON — Lewiston Adult Education will offer “Relax and Renew,” a class that will show participants how breath work, mild stretching, guided imagery and relaxation techniques can improve overall wellness, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 2. During each of the three class sessions, the techniques will be practiced.

The instructor, Nadine Loeb, has been practicing licensed massage therapy for more than 30 years. She has her BA in psychology and a variety of other professional certificates in natural approaches to wellness.

Reiki workshop

LEWISTON – The Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope and Healing at Central Maine Medical Center is offering a free reiki workshop for families affected by cancer. “Not Rakey, Reiki!” will take place from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 3, at CMMC, 12 High St., conference room I. The offering is part of the center’s Healing Tree Children’s Program.

Reiki is a Japanese technique to relieve stress and promote healing through life energy. Reiki Master Meredith Kendall, RN, BSN, MSN, will teach children and adults how to perform reiki and use healthy energy to calm and soothe.

SABATTUS — The Sabattus Senior Citizens meeting and meal will be held Thursday, Feb. 3, at Maxwell Hall. Doors will open at 11 a.m.

LEWISTON — The Lewiston Senior Citizens Cribbage League winners at the Multi-Purpose Center on Jan. 20 were: first, Betty Ames and Robert Cielinski; second, Robert Oliver and Gary David; third, Leo Muise and Cecile LeBlond; fourth, Steve Agurkis and Victor Bernier; fifth, Shirley Labonte and Arnie Burgess.
