RUMFORD — Curves exercise franchise will move to the River Valley Technology Center next month, River Valley Growth Council administrative assistant Beverly Crosby announced recently.

Curves, owned by Kathy Andrews and located in the Mexico minimall, will lease 1,900 square feet on the main floor of the center at 60 Lowell St. It is scheduled to open Feb. 1 after remodeling that includes electrical upgrades, new carpeting and other improvements.

Renting space at the Technology Center are Maine Career Center, Community Dental, Child Development Services, and a couple of social-service related businesses. A 660-square-foot office remains unoccupied.

The Growth Council and Technology Center are seeking funding to remodel of the third floor of the former bag mill. The building was donated to the Growth Council by the local paper mill several years ago.

No official plans have been announced for the new tenants of the former Curves space at the Mexico minimall.
