LEWISTON — A Mass of Christian Burial honoring the life of Roger Charest was celebrated by Monsignor Marc Caron Tuesday at Holy Cross Church of the Prince of Peace Parish. During the service, Roger’s two nieces, Irene and Karen Michaud proclaimed both the Old and New Testaments. Roger’s daughter, Joline Pelletier recited the prayer of the faithful. The offertory gifts were brought to the altar by Roger’s son, Ronald Charest, and Roger’s daughter, Jackie Charest. Following a procession to St. Peter’s Cemetery, Monsignor Caron recited committal prayers ending with Roger’s son Paul reciting words of remembrance. Following Paul’s words, the United States Army Honor Detail played “taps” and presented our country’s flag to Roger’s son, Paul for services rendered by his father to our country during World War II. At the conclusion of services, all were invited to Governor’s Restaurant in Lewiston. Pallbearers were John Pelletier, Chad Lapierre, Keith Charest, Michael Saucier, Bill Pellegrino and Joseph McCadden. Arrangements by Pinette & Lynch Funeral Home.
