AUGUSTA — Shirley A. Dubay, 65, a resident of Moose Hill Road, Jay, died Thursday, Jan. 27, at Maine General Medical Center, after being recently diagnosed with cancer.

She was born Nov. 23, 1945, in Farmington the daughter of Erlan L. “Oscar” and Anita (Bisbee) Hunt. She was a 1964 graduate of Livermore Falls High School.

In January 1973, she married James Amero Sr., they later divorced. In November 1995, she married Daniel Dubay of Strong. Shirley worked at Livermore Shoe in Livermore Falls, Bass Shoe in Wilton and Allen Edmond Shoe in Lewiston.

Shirley enjoyed camping with her family and friends and spending time with her daughter Alison and her granddaughters, Autumn and Jasmine.

She is survived by her husband, Daniel Dubay of Strong; her daughter, Alison St. Pierre and her daughters, Autumn and Jasmine St. Pierre of Jay; her sons, James Amero Jr. of Massachusetts, and Ryan Amero of Temple; her sisters and their husbands, Linda and George Walton of Bar Harbor and Sheila and Steve Adams of Livermore Falls; her brother, William Hunt of West Palm Beach, Fla.; her former husband, James Amero Sr. of Tennessee; six stepchildren; and 17 stepgrandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents; her sister, Nancy Jellison; her brother, Erlan Hunt Jr.; niece, Sarena Mae Hiltz; and great-nephew, Ricky W. Enman.
