LEWISTON — Proactive Physical Therapy, 1190 Lisbon St., Lewiston, welcomes Jonathan Cowie to the physical therapy staff.

Cowie is a recent graduate of Husson University. He earned his bachelor of science degree in kinesiology and human movement with a minor in psychology in May of 2008 and completed his doctor of physical therapy degree in May 2010.

Throughout his clinical rotations in the outpatient, inpatient, and acute rehab settings, he has worked with individuals with orthopedic, neurologic, vestibular, and cardiopulmonary impairments. He has a special interest in athletic performance and will be expanding the services offered at Proactive Physical Therapy to include fitness and sports performance training.

He has also developed a vestibular rehabilitation program and is looking forward to implementing treatment strategies to help those people with balance and vertigo problems. He is currently pursuing additional training in the McKenzie method for evaluation and treatment of spinal disorders to further strengthen Proactive’s spine care program. 

Cowie is from Madawaska and has recently settled in Auburn. He enjoys various outdoor recreational activities and hopes to become involved in coaching area youth soccer in the spring.
