Nordic Ski Day

NORWAY — A Nordic Ski Day will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 5, at Roberts Farm Preserve, 64 Roberts Road, sponsored by the Western Foothills Land Trust.

Skiers of all ages are welcome to enjoy 8k of freshly groomed trails or the 3.5k snowshoe trail. There is no charge, but, as an annual fundraiser for the trust, donations will be welcome. Homemade refreshments will be available.

Anyone who purchases a 2011 trail supporter pass during the event will automatically receive a membership to the trust. Preserve information and maps are at www.wfltmaine.org and on the preserve’s new facebook page.

Valentine supper

PARIS — A Valentine chicken pie supper and dance will be held on Saturday, Feb. 5, at the Legion Hall on Church Street, South Paris. Supper will be available from 5 to 6 p.m. for a cost of $7. Music, provided by Jones Dance Band, will begin at 6:30 p.m. The cost for the dance is $5.

NORWAY — The First Universalist Churches of Norway and West Paris will focus on “Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow: a Celebration of Winter – Rather Than Being Grumpy about It” on Sunday, Feb. 6.

Auxiliary food sale

BUCKFIELD — American Legion Auxiliary 58 will have a food sale from 9 a.m. until sold out on Friday, Feb. 11, at Northeast Bank. Proceeds will sponsor two junior girls to Girls State. There will be Valentine goodies.

Bridge results

OXFORD — Oxford Hills Duplicate Bridge Club met Jan. 28 in the recreation building, King Street, when a five-table Howell movement was played. Finishing first in flight A were Dick Allen and Pete Cummings; second, Carol Curran and Marta Clements; third, Cindy and Bob Kirchherr, who also were first in flight B and C.

Finishing second in flight B were Denny Raymond and Hank Sakrison, who also were second in flight C; third, Priscilla Rooth and Hazel Glazier; third in flight C, Milt McKeen and Jim Krainin.
