AUBURN — Junior forward Joe Bryant recorded a game-high 16 points to lead St. Dom’s to a 53-51 triumph over Winthrop in MVC boys’ basketball action Tuesday.

The Saints (6-9) took a late advantage and held on right down to a Winthrop attempt at the final buzzer. Tom Applegate pitched in with a double-double on 10 points and 10 rebounds.

The Ramblers (6-9) battled to keep pace as senior forward Ryan Castonguay and senior guard Billy Gordon tossed a shared team-high 14 points.

Gray-NG 59, Lake Region 51

NAPLES —Adam Jensen poured in 32 points Tuesday to lead Gray-New Gloucester to a 59-51 victory over Lake Region in WMC boys’ basketball.

The Patriots (9-5) jumped out to a four-point advantage in the first frame, saw the lead cut to two points before the break and used a 15-8 run in the third quarter to regain control. Jensen was the only GNG player in double figures.

Lake Region was paced by Kevin Gilson with a solid 20-point performance, while Alex Hartford chipped in with 14 points.

Girls’ basketball

Edward Little 53, Oxford Hills 39

SOUTH PARIS — Senior guard Francesca Lally tossed a team-high 15 points to lead Edward Little to a 53-39 victory over Oxford Hills in a KVAC girls’ basketball game Tuesday.

The Red Eddies (13-2) hit six of their seven 3-pointers in the first quarter to take an early 23-9 lead. Ashlee Arnold chipped in with 13 points for Edward Little.

The Vikings slowed the Eddies’ pace in the second quarter, and played even the rest of the way. Senior center Chrissy Lewis notched a team-high 15 points.

Brewer 54, Mt. Blue 46, OT

FARMINGTON — Senior guard Faith Thomas scored a game-high 17 points, including eight in overtime, to subdue Mt. Blue 54-46 in KVAC girls’ basketball.

The Cougars (4-11) trailed for most of the game, but took a four-point lead with two and one-half minutes left in regulation. Jillian Perron saw her two free throws for Mt. Blue sandwiched by a pair of 3-point field goals from Thomas to tie the game at the buzzer.

Thomas scored eight of Brewer’s 11 overtime points and 14 of her 17 points in the late stages of the contest.

Sophomore guard Gabby Foy posted a team-high 14 points, while Miranda Nicely and Perron added 12 and 11 points, respectively, for the Cougars.

Hebron 6, NYA 2

HEBRON — Josh Brodeur netted a pair of goals Tuesday to lead Hebron to a 6-2 victory over North Yarmouth Academy in boys’ hockey action.

Joe Collins, Peter Quigley and Brodeur all tallied for Hebron in the first period to give it a 3-0 advantage.

Jake Landry answered for NYA early in the second frame before Brodeur scored picked up his second goal of the contest.

Shane Hearn and Andrew Crawford also tallied for Hebron to complete the scoring. Mike Messuri made 18 saves to record the win.

Landry scored his second goal at the 5:10 mark of the third period. Sebastian LeBlanc turned aside 30 shots between the pipes for NYA.
