FARMINGTON — Sandra Kay Starnes, 62, originally of Kingfield, died peacefully in the presence of her family on Jan. 30, at Franklin Memorial Hospital.

She was born Jan. 29, 1949, in Farmington, the daughter of Rosalind and James K. Starnes. At the age of 22, she moved into what is now known as the Rumford Community Home, where she was loved by all and was given the name “Queen Bee.” In November 2007, she moved to Edgewood Rehabilitation and Living Center to be closer to her family and in no time at all, it was clear that she was “Queen Bee” there as well, due to her loving spirit and infectious personality. Her favorite activities included church services, bingo, NASCAR, country music and spending time with her family and friends.

She is loved by her father, Ken Starnes and his wife, Becky, of Chesterville; brother, Dale Starnes and wife, Georgette, of Jay; sister, Sonya Dearborn and husband, Richard Dearborn, of Kingfield; and nieces and nephews, Joshua Starnes, Kristy Starnes, Kylie Shaw and Alex Shaw.

She was predeceased by her mother, Rosalind Starnes of Kingfield.
