DURHAM — A local woman Christine Blackadar, 43, was charged with operating under the influence following an early morning crash Tuesday on Pinkham Brook Road about a quarter mile from the Lisbon-Durham Bridge.
Blackadar was driving north near 185 Pinkham Brook Road toward Lisbon Falls when she lost control of her SUV, veered off the right shoulder, over a snowbank and into a utility pole, according to investigating officer Androscoggin Deputy Sheriff Craig McMillan.
She escaped apparent injury McMillan said and told him she was on her way to a Brunswick hospital due to an injury suffered the previous night. She was transported to Midcoast Hospital in Brunswick by Durham Fire and Rescue.
Lisbon Police Department assisted at the scene with commuter traffic as did Durham Fire and Rescue personnel. Blackadar’s 1997 Jeep Cherokee was totalled in the 4:55 a.m. crash. There was no damage to the pole, McMillan said.
