AUBURN — College-bound seniors at Edward Little High School are encouraged to apply for the Larry Marczak Memorial Scholarship. The $2,000 scholarship is awarded annually to one graduating senior at the school. This year marks the 10th annual award.

Interested students should obtain an information sheet from the ELHS guidance office. Completed applications are due at the office by Friday, March 11.

Students must include a 250-word essay explaining something that they have done during high school that has had a positive impact on someone’s life.

Students are also asked to include two letters of recommendation. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

The scholarship was started in memory of Larry Marczak, a high school science teacher in the Auburn school system for 33 years, who died in 2002.

Marczak recognized students who were willing to work hard, regardless of their individual ability level. He was dedicated to instilling a love of learning in his students and encouraged them to pursue post-secondary education
