BUCKFIELD — A surprise party was held recently for Walter and Charlotte Warren of Buckfield, on the occasion of their 60th wedding anniversary. The event was held at their home and was planned by their daughter, Ruth Johnson, and daughter-in-law, Donna Warren.

Calla lilies and roses decorated the home and a buffet and cake was served to the 75 family members and friends attending. Joseph Warren was toastmaster.

Mr. Warren and the former Charlotte Lowell were married Dec. 23, 1950, at the parsonage of the Buckfield Baptist Church.

Their children are Joseph, John, Mark, Paul, Steven, Ruth, Daniel and Rachel. Their grandchildren are Brent, Virginia, Rebekah and John Jr., Martha, Varneta, Cheryl, Charlotte, William, Arthur and David Warren, Nichole, Ryan, Joshua and Matthew Johnson, Thomas, Naomi, Charlotte and Madeline Warren, and Andrew, Travis and Rachelle Mendola. They also have 20 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Warren attended Buckfield schools and is a homemaker. Her hobbies are quilting, knitting, crocheting, gardening and flowers and is a member of the chorale at the Buckfield United Church of God.

Mr. Warren graduated from Buckfield High School and is a veteran of World War II. He was a herdsman, postal clerk, forester, real estate agent, truck driver, crane operator and logger. His hobbies are hunting, fishing and golfing and he is a Red Sox fan.

Original wedding attendants present were Howard Lowell and Geraldine Warren Jewell.
