Basil the cat seems oblivious to the Valentine’s Day rush at Blais Flower & Garden Center in Lewiston on Monday as Lily Doyon works on a flower arrangement. “Basil wouldn’t settle down this morning, so I had to give her my vest to sleep on,” said Doyon of the cat who adopted the shop 7 or 8 years ago as a kitten. The employees at Blais said the phone started ringing at 7 a.m. and didn’t stop. As of 1 p.m., they were doing a steady walk-in business and had already delivered more than 260 orders to local businesses.
