AUBURN — Raymond G. D’Amour, 86, passed away Saturday, Feb. 26, at Androscoggin Hospice House surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on Jan. 20, 1925, in Lewiston, a son of the late Charles and Antoinette (Robitaille) D’Amour.

Raymond graduated from St. Peter’s school in 1939. He went into the army and served three years in the South Pacific during World War II. He was awarded his high school diploma after his return. He later attended CMVTI where he took management classes and graduated in 1972. Raymond worked for Bates Fabrics & Minette Mills, where he retired after 50 years as a textile designer.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Georgette (Pelletier) D’Amour, of Lisbon; his three sons, Gerard D’Amour and his wife, Barbara, of Greene, Marc D’Amour and his wife, Anne, of Lewiston, and Peter D’Amour and his companion, Corinne Briggs, of Gray; grandchildren, Lindsey D’Amour, Kelly Dawson and Jessica D’Amour, all of North Carolina, Joshua D’Amour of Lewiston, and  Andrew D’Amour of South Portland.

Raymond was predeceased by his brother, Paul D’Amour, in 2000; and his sister, Charlotte, at a young age.
