Susan T. Dumais, a Lewiston native, and Bates College graduate of 1975, has been elected to the National Academy of Engineering. Academy membership honors those who have made outstanding contributions “to engineering research, practice or education, including significant contributions to the engineering literature” and to the “pioneering of new and developing fields of technology.”
Susan is a senior principal researcher at Microsoft Research of Redmond, Wash. She is being recognized for “innovation and leadership in organizing, accessing and interacting with information.”
She resides in Kirkland, Wash., with her husband Tom, and is the daughter of Viola Dumais of Lewiston and the late Robert Dumais.
