FARMINGTON — Two motivational customer service workshops, Give ’em the Pickle, are being offered to businesses in Franklin County.

The first workshop takes place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Wilton on Wednesday, March 16, at the Comfort Inn and Suites and is repeated on May 10 at the Carrabassett Valley Library.

Registration deadline for these programs are March 9 and May 3, respectively.

According to the Franklin County Tourism Network, tourism is Maine’s No. 1 business and customer service is the key to the success of every business. Give ’em the Pickle is a highly entertaining and motivational customer service workshop that focuses on service, attitude, consistency and teamwork.

Pickles are those special or extra things you do to make people happy. It’s walking the customer to the item they’re looking for rather than pointing … or maybe it’s simply using their name. The trick is figuring out what customers want, then making sure they get it. That’s the message behind Give ’em the Pickle, a workshop that inspires both management and employees to do the most important thing they can do in business … take care of the customer.

The workshops have been tailored to the challenges and opportunities specific to Greater Franklin County. The cost to area businesses to attend is $35 for one attendee or $60 for two. This fee covers a light breakfast, lunch and all materials.
