RUMFORD — The Rumford Lodge of Elks 862 has announced the 2011 Most Valuable Student Scholarship winners. A senior boy and girl were each awarded $300.

This year’s winners are Elek Pew of Telstar High School and Erin Milligan of Mountain Valley High School. The students are eligible for Elks scholarship consideration at the state level, and those who further qualify will advance to the national level.

All seniors at Mountain Valley, Dirigo and Telstar high schools, and those from Gould Academy who reside in a town comprising these schools, planning further education at an accredited four-year secondary school may apply for the scholarship.

Seniors who are children or grandchildren of living Elks are eligible for an Elks Legacy Scholarship.

Both scholarship applications are available through the guidance office at each school or online at www.elks.org/enf/scholars.

The Scholarship Committee members who judged the applicants are Lew Irish, Allan Gallant and Peggy Briggette.
