LEWISTON — Lewiston Adult Education will hold its semi-annual Super Saturday on March 19. Ten single-session seminars, classes and workshops will be offered, including:

Apple-Picking Basket: Beginners and experienced basket-weavers will  create a sturdy-handled basket starting with a 10-inch round base and adding color to personalize the piece. Participants will bring a bucket, tape measure, pencil, jack knife, spray bottle, pair of scissors and spring-type clothespins; all other materials will be provided. From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; $28, plus an $18 lab fee.

Automotive Basics in a Day: In the introductory car-care class, participants will learn how to change a flat, boost a battery, check and replace fluids, change lights and get tips on how to use exhaust color, unfamiliar noises and abnormal vibrations to diagnose a problem with their automobile. From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.;  $33, plus a $5 lab fee.

CPR, First Aid, AED Training: Participants will build the skills to earn their certification from the American Heart Association. From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; $65, plus a $5 lab fee.

Dog Training: In the three-hour seminar for dog owners (no dogs, please), participants will learn how to identify and understand certain dog behaviors and be given strategies to use that information to effectively train their dogs. The seminar will cover basic indoor management for puppies and dogs, reward strategies, how to incorporate a release word and how to train behaviors. From 9 a.m. to noon; $16.

Edible Landscaping: For those who want to get more out of their gardens, but are short on time and space, edible landscaping offers an alternative to conventional residential landscaping using food producing plants. Participants will learn how to maximize the use of their space while enjoying the flavor and freshness of homegrown fruits and vegetables. Participants should bring a photo or rough sketch of their yard, paper, a pencil and a ruler if so they can get started on a design while in class. From 9 a.m. to noon; $16.

How Does Your Garden Grow Table Runner: Celebrate the new growing season with watering can blocks and pieced pathways to quilt a springtime table runner. The finished product is 14 ½ x 34 ½ inches. Participants will bring their own sewing machine. Supply list available upon registration. From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; $32, plus a $5 lab fee.

Introduction to WordPress: A one-day introduction into blogging using WordPress, is good for those who are ready to join the blogosphere, but not sure where to start. It will be a hands-on course in which participants will build a blog in class, and then be able to access, manage, change and update it from home. WordPress is free and easy to use. From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; $55, plus a $5 lab fee.

MS Excel Workshop: Designed for beginners, the workshop will equip participants with a functional understanding of Excel 2007’s most useful features. From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; $55, plus a $10 lab fee.

MS Word in a Day: Participants will review the basics of word processing, then practice using some of the more advanced features in MS Word to create professional reports, newsletters and business correspondence. From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; $55, plus a $10 lab fee.

Super Saturday Spring Cleaning: The seminar will get participants ready to de-clutter and scrub down their homes in order to do a thorough spring cleaning. The instructor will provide a room-by-room overview of what tools are best for which tasks, share techniques to help clean more efficiently and give tips on how to get kids involved. From 9 a.m. to noon; $17.
