LIVERMORE FALLS — George Bunten Post 10 will hold a public supper from 4:30 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, March 19, at the American Legion, Reynolds Avenue.
Menu includes homemade baked beans, macaroni and cheese, American chop suey, desserts and more. Adults, $7; children under 13, $4.

Dems talk unions
PHILLIPS — University of Maine Bureau of Labor education program associate Gary McGrane of Jay and Iron Workers Local 7 business agent John Evans of New Sharon will lead an interactive session, Unions in Maine, at 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 20, at the Shadagee Apartments Community Room. The forum was organized by the Franklin County Democrats.
The discussion will include a brief history of labor unions in Maine, the role unions have played in the establishment of the middle class (the weekend, the 8-hour work day, health and safety regulations), the right to form and promote unions, why unions are being attacked by the political establishment and the current situation for unions in Franklin County.

Bedtime stories
STRONG — The Strong Public Library will host a four-week bedtime story time from 6:30 to 7 p.m. on Thursdays beginning March 24. Each week, a different story with a bedtime theme will be read. Children are invited to wear slippers and pajamas and bring a favorite stuffed animal.
A snack will be provided. The entire family is welcome. For more information, call the library at 684-4003 on Tuesday or Thursday from 1-7 p.m., or Saturday between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
