LEWISTON — Pack Life has announced that members will hold the second annual April Stools Day fundraiser on Saturday, April 2. The event will be a community service, incorporated with a fundraiser for the local nonprofit organization that was founded in May 2009.

Teams will join to clean up “problem areas” throughout Lewiston/Auburn. “This is an important event, not only for the dog community, but for the community as a whole, and anyone that uses these parks and trails,” Cassandra Lang said.

The main goal is to clean up after the dog owners who chose not to do so, to help keep the local parks and trails open to dogs. The group hopes that this will help to preserve the positive image of dogs in the community, as well as maintain the exercise outlets available to dogs and their owners.

Last year the event raised more than $500 for the nonprofit organization. With a remote location in Bangor on Sunday, April 3, they are hoping to double that number this year.

The group is looking for volunteers to help, as well as business sponsors. They are in need of supplies, including doggie cleanup bags, trash grabbers, hand sanitizers and monetary sponsorships. If interested in donating or volunteering, Pack Life at 754-5757 or Cassandra@packlife.org.
