AUBURN — Betty E. Barnett, 77, of Auburn died Sunday, April 17, at the Androscoggin Hospice House.
She was born in Welchville on Sept. 21, 1933, the daughter of Guy and Carolyn (Strother) Hannaford, and graduated valedictorian of her class at Leavitt Institute.
She worked at CMMC as an EKG technician for 20 years and later as an office manager at Tri-County Mental Health Services, for 20 years, until her retirement in 1998.
She is survived by her son, Stephen and wife, Johanna, of Gardiner; her daughter, Mary Carter and husband, Jay, of Hancock; grandchildren, Matthew and wife, Browyn, of Biddeford, Mark and wife, Heather, of Auburn, and Emily of Hancock; two great-grandchildren, Fox and Aiden, and one expecting; and by four step-great-grandchildren.
