AUGUSTA — Approximately 2,000 Jehovah’s Witnesses from central Maine will gather for their annual special assembly day on Sunday, April 24. This one-day meeting will be held at the Civic Center, 76 Community Drive.

The scriptural theme for this assembly will be “Take refuge in Jehovah (Psalm 118:8,9)”. The sessions featuring talks and interviews will start at 9:40 a.m. and will conclude at 4 p.m.

The visiting speaker will be Geoffrey Jackson from the World Headquarters of Jehovah’s Witnesses. On Sunday morning he will speak on the subject, “Imitate Jehovah in providing refuge.” Sunday afternoon he will address the audience on the subject, “Our spiritual paradise — Jehovah’s provision for refuge.”

One of our local speakers will be Paul Paradis from Fairfield. The subject of his Sunday afternoon talk will be, “Is your home a haven of delight?”
