SACO — Stephen H. Damon, 65, of Scarborough, passed away on Sunday, April 17, at the Seal Rock Health Care Center, with his family by his side, after a courageous battle with cancer. Steve is golfing on the ultimate course.

He was born in Lewiston on May 27, 1945, the son of Charles A. and Betty L. Mills Damon. He graduated from Edward Little High School in Auburn. He faithfully served our country in the U. S. Army.

Damon and Malone was his true love, and his famous barbecues at the shop are something everyone will remember. He enjoyed gatherings and sharing laughs with family and friends. Steve was an expert at earth work and loved to write in his book. His other passions for life included golfing, plowing a good Maine blizzard, collecting rare coins, reading military history books, local racing, driving Corvettes and buying the first round.

He is survived by a son, Rodney Damon and his girlfriend, Kathleen, of Westbrook; daughters, Patricia Damon of Portland, Cheryl Damon and her husband, Michael Harmon, of Portland and Courtney Damon and her fiance, James Maloney, of Old Orchard Beach; two granddaughters, Heather Damon and Casey Jane Harmon; two sisters, Mary Eastman and her husband, Frank, of South Carolina and Sandra Mosher and her husband, Gerald, of Minot; and several nieces and nephews; he was particularly close to his nephews Mark and Matt Mosher.
