WATERVILLE – Teresa A. Plante, 75, of 39 Barnet Ave., passed away peacefully on April 19, at the Oak Grove Center in Waterville.

She was born in Skowhegan on Nov. 1, 1935, the daughter of Roseanna Morin Jalbert. She was the devoted and loving wife of Joseph Plante, whom she married on Dec. 29, 1956, at Notre Dame Church in Waterville.

A loving mother and grandmother, she raised her family of four children while residing in Braintree and Peabody, Mass., Littleton, Colo. and Franklin, Mass. She fully supported her husband, who worked at Stone and Webster Engineering Corporation. While she lived in Colorado, she had many opportunities to travel extensively throughout the country, meet a diverse group of people and coordinate social activities for his office. She retired with her husband to Naples, Fla. in 1993 and finally settled back in Waterville in 2006.

In addition to being survived by her loving husband of 55 years, she is survived by one sister, Cecile Grenier of Waterville; two brothers, Rosaire Jalbert and his wife, Theresa, of Lewiston, and Marcel and his wife, Helen, of Vernon, Vt.; and six sisters-in-law, Dorothy Jalbert of Lewiston, Monique Jalbert of Auburn, and Madeleine Roy, Pearle Vashon, Carmen Plante and Carmel Pinnette, all of Waterville.

She is also survived by her two sons, Paul and his fiancee, Lou Ann of Yarmouth and Thomas and his wife, Susan of Waterford, Conn.; her two daughters, Celeste King of San Juan Bautista, Calif. and Michelle Snicer and her husband, Gregory of Fremont, N.H.; six grandchildren, Carolyn, Mark and Benjamin Plante, Nicholas and Sean King and Christina Snicer; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her mother and stepfather, Arthur Jacques; three sisters, Antoinette Caron, Emerentienne (Rose) Jalbert and Helena Lebrun; and four brothers, Emile, Dominique, Robert and George Jalbert.
