LEWISTON — A South Portland man has been indicted on charges that he broke into several cars in Lewiston at the beginning of the year and used stolen credit cards to make purchases at local stores.

Scott Boody, 45, was indicted on two counts of forgery, two counts of misusing identification and three counts of theft.

One of Boody’s victims, according to court documents, was a Lewiston police detective whose wallet, iPod and cellphone were taken.

Boody was arrested Jan. 6 at his apartment in South Portland in connection with the burglaries of four vehicles at The Gym on Main Street as well as an office at Central Maine Medical Center.

Boody remains free pending a court hearing.
