Telstar 20, Liv. Falls 0

BETHEL — Corey Howard’s grand slam keyed an 11-run second inning Monday and powered Telstar to a 20-0 MVC baseball rout of Livermore Falls.

Howard’s clout was the Rebels’ first hit of the game, following 10 walks to make it an 8-0 margin. Ben Field and Kurt Morgan also homered for Telstar, which ultimately pounded out 13 hits in the abbreviated game.

Dan Whitney hurled a four-hit shutout over the five-inning route. Howard also had a double among his three hits for the Rebels. Morgan added three hits and Drew Wilson had two.

Mt. Blue 4, Messalonskee 0

OAKLAND — Jimmy Neal scattered three sinles and struck out nine batters to lead Mt. Blue to a 4-0 triumph over Messalonskee in a KVAC baseball game Monday.

The Cougars (1-1) gave Neal a three-run cushion in the first inning  when Bradley Jackson singled home a pair of runs and Andrew Pratt followed with an RBI single.

Neal allowed one runner to reach third base. Devin Warren allowed five hits for Messalonskee (1-2).

Greely 8, Poland 1

POLAND — Greely chipped away for six insurance runs in the sixth inning to pull away to an 8-1 victory over Poland.

The Knights (0-3) took the lead in the first inning when Connor King singled home Pat Jipson. But Greely (2-0) scored once in the second inning and another in the third to assume the lead.

King, Shane Waters and Caleb Bridgham had two hits apiece for Poland. One of Bridgham’s hits was a double. Pete Stauber led Greely with three hits. Jonah Normandeau started and picked up the win.

Gray-New Gloucester 4, Freeport 3

GRAY — Aaron Boulos doubled in Austen Keenan in the seventh inning as Gray-New Gloucester slipped away with a 4-3 victory over Freeport in baseball action Monday.

The Falcons got on the board first in the top of the 2nd inning when Chris Libby, who hit a one-out triple, later scored on a fielders choice.

The Falcons tied the game in the top of the seventh when Luke Lamagna doubled, and he and Jared Knighton scored on a throwing error.

Edward Little 6, Brunswick 5

BRUNSWICK — Cam Bisson singled in two runs in the top of the seventh inning, including the eventual game-winner, to lift Edward Little to a 6-5 triumph over Brunswick in KVAC baseball action Monday.

Gage Clavett earned the pitching victory with four scoreless innings in relief and scored the tying run in the seventh for the Red Eddies. The starting pitcher, Nate Blais, crossed the plate for the eventual game-winner on the bases loaded single by Bisson.

The Dragons manufactured five runs in the early innings and had just four hits in the game. Trent Anderson provided the only extra base hit with a double for Brunswick in the losing effort.
