PARIS — The Molly Ockett Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Fryeburg-Oxford Hills Area, will be honoring three area high school seniors at the annual Good Citizens Tea to be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 1, in the Chapel of the Haskell House, 1st Congregational Church, 17 East Main St., South Paris. Family and faculty are invited to attend this presentation.

The students are winners of the annual DAR Good Citizen Award and Essay Contest.

Award recipients were chosen by the students and faculty of their schools for outstanding citizenship, honesty, courage, service, leadership and patriotism. Students also participated in an essay contest.

The DAR Good Citizen award winners are: Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School, Kayla Jade Turner, the daughter of Cindy Turner; Lake Region High School, Leah Bennett, the daughter of Linda and Dick Bennett; Fryeburg Academy, Colette Fritzlen, the daughter Lynn Fritzlen and William Pierce; Telstar Regional High School, Timothy J. O’Connor, the son of Teresa and Tim O’Connor.

Kayla Jade Turner was selected as the winner of the essay contest and her essay was submitted to the state level contest.

The Daughters of the American Revolution was founded in 1890 with the mission to promote historic preservation, patriotism and education. It is the largest women’s volunteer service organization in the country with about 165,000 members and growing.
