Leavitt 2, Camden Hills 1

TURNER — Two walks, two passed balls and an error produced two unearned runs in the bottom of the sixth inning Monday, pushing Leavitt past Camden Hills, 2-1, in KVAC softball.

Annie Castonguay delivered a leadoff single to start the rally for the Hornets (1-1). Leavitt scored the tying run on a passed ball and pushed across the eventual winning run when Camden mishandled Tori Zupancic’s fly ball to shallow center field.

Adrie Newton struck out 11 and walked two to pick up the win for the Hornets. Sue Steele slapped two of the five hits for the Windjammers (1-1). Katy Buchheit took the hard-luck loss on the hill.

Oxford Hills 20, Lewiston 2

LEWISTON — Breanna Martin and Dayna Schultz had four hits apiece, including a home run each, to lead Oxford Hills to a 20-2 victory over Lewiston in a KVAC softball game played Monday.

Leading 5-2 after the first inning, the Vikings (3-0) scored four more runs in the second to take command. Allyson Snow added three hits and Mariah Martin had two hits. Schultz, Snow and Mariah Martin all ripped triples.

Heather Michaud, Shyan Baillargeon and Kourtney Bartlett had two hits apiece for Lewiston (1-2). Pitcher Kati Dumais struck out five batters.

Telstar 7, Livermore Falls 0

BETHEL — Kayla Merrill struck out 13 batters and didn’t give up a walk as Telstar toppled Livermore Falls with a 7-0 victory in a softball game Monday.

Besides Merrill’s shutout, her sister, Lyndsay, belted a two-run double during the Rebels’ five-run eruption in the third inning.

The only repeat hitter of the game was Livermore Falls’ Katherine Ventrella, who had two of the Andies’ five hits.

Greely 14, Poland 2

POLAND — Katie Whittam and Caroline Hamilton each had four hits as Greely ganged up on Poland with a 14-2 victory in a softball game Monday.

The Rangers wasted no time on offense, exploding with eight runs in the first inning. Greely added six more runs along the way, while Poland musted only two.

Greely pounded out 18 hits without commiting an error.

For Poland, Katie Love smacked a double.

Edward Little 11, Brunswick 1

BRUNSWICK — Melissa Paione roped a two-run triple in the first inning as Edward Little dampened Brunswick’s spark in the early going and plowed on to an 11-1 victory in KVAC softball action Monday.

The Red Eddies (1-2) posted nine runs in the first two innings. Ashlee Arnold collected three singles, while four other players pitched in with two hits apiece.

Emily Schario and Danielle Rock had a double each, while Miranda Martin earned the mound victory for Edward Little.

Rachel Moroney recorded the only Dragon (1-2) extra base hit with a double in the losing effort.

Dirigo 13, Wiscasset 1

DIXFIELD —Alyssa Charity’s first double ignited a six-run uprising that snapped a deadlock in the fourth inning and send Dirigo to a 13-1 victory over Wiscasset.

With the game tied at 1-1 after three-and-a-half innings, the Cougars (1-0) erupted for six runs in each of the next two innings to end the game early.

Charity finished with three hits, while Tasha DeRoche added two doubles, while Natalie Bolduc and Paige Murphy added two singles apiece. Pitcher Alyssa Wade scattered five hits on the mound for Dirigo.

Briana Good had a pair of hits for Wiscasset (0-1).

Messalonskee 15, Mt. Blue 6

OAKLAND — Messalonskee scored seven times in the bottom of the fourth inning to swing the tide and soar to a 15-6 victory over Mt. Blue in softball action Monday.

Alei Collier had three hits and two RBIs, while Jess Soucy contributed a pair of hits for the Eagles.

Hannah Allen produced three hits for the Cougars in the losing effort.

Oak Hill 19, Waterville 6

WATERVILLE — Taylor Fillion had three hits and five RBIs to power Oak Hill to a 19-6 win over Waterville in softball action Monday.

The Raiders scored runs in all but the third inning, packing on six in the sixth frame. Alyssa Rouleau, Marrissa Caskin and Brianna Hodgkins had three hits each for Oak Hill.

Diane Jacques and Marnie Pellerin tallied four of the Panther’s six hits in the losing effort.

Gray-New Gloucester 11, Freeport 3

GRAY — Maggie Chaplin pitched a one-hitter with nine strike outs as Gray-New Gloucester coasted to an 11-3 victory over Freeport in softball action Monday.

Alicia Valente tendered a two-run double and an RBI triple for the Patriots. Lindsay Nunley chipped in with a one-run double.

Dani Perry had a three-run triple in the fifth inning for the only Falcon runs in the losing effort.

LACROSSE

Oxford Hills 20, Mountain Valley 9

RUMFORD — Hannah Warren poured in 10 goals to spark Oxford Hills to a 20-9 triumph over Mountain Valley in girls’ lacrosse action Monday.

Danielle Allen chipped in with four goals, while Amanda Hanning added three goals and Marissa Hanning had two. Abby Morton also scored. Audrey Komulainen made eight saves for the Vikings (2-0).

Ayla Allen led the Falcons (0-2) with eight goals and Emily Gallant had one.
