RUMFORD — The committee planning Pamper Yourself Day for cancer patients, survivors and caregivers at Rumford Hospital on Sunday, May 1, has attracted many local service people to donate their expertise in pampering.

Staff from All that Jazz will do manicures, nails, pedicures and hair. Women from Island Indulgence plan pedicures, manicures, hot wax treatments, facials, makeovers and hairstyling. Tammy Schmersal from Ta-Dah will also offer hairstyling. Sand Turtles will come prepared to do hairstyling, pedicures, facials, manicures and nails. Trendsetters staff will present hairstyling and manicures.

In addition to these beauty rituals, Avon and Bare Escentuals products will be demonstrated. Irene Haynes of A Time for You will give massages and Reiki treatments. Darlene Akers of Dragonfly Healing Next will also perform Reiki, as well as teaching about the healing powers of herbs. Aimee Grimmel of Healing Moon Pathways will offer Reiki, shamanic healing and meditation.

Davis Florist will help create a relaxing atmosphere for participants, and Studio 6 Photography will be on hand to do free glamour photography shoots for the beautified participants.

This is the 2nd annual Pamper Yourself Day for cancer patients, survivors and caregivers sponsored by the Patrick Dempsey Center for Cancer Hope and Healing and Rumford Hospital’s Lariviere Oncology Suite.
